7:47 am - Tuesday - November 9th - Fontana, CA - 54° F, 82% humidity, wind 1 mph out of the south....heavily overcast today with a forecast high of 70° F. On this date in 2016 TLE and I were soaking at Keough Hot Springs just south of Bishop, CA off US-395......↴
Monday had a similar beginning to Sunday.....fog early, burning off around mid morning. We decided to take an 'out and back' walk on the PET before it got warm, so we set off walking around 10:30 am walking 2+ miles out to the Sunkist warehouse, and back....
Then it was time to return to sorting through what was left of the warehouse 'stuff'. When we first hauled all our 'stuff' home from my son's warehouse a couple of weeks ago there was a large box of old tax files beginning in 2014, and going back to 1999. You only have to keep tax returns on hand for 7 years, and it would be really easy to just throw them out, but everything in those files has our social security numbers plastered all over them, so the only options are to burn them, which is not an option for us, or to shred them. I've been putting off this shredding task as it is extremely boring, but decided it was time to get rid of this box and its contents Monday. We have carried with us on our travels a Fellows paper shredder for just this purpose, so I set up a table in the trailer to begin the process. From beginning to end it took me a little over two hours to plow through 15 years of tax returns, shredding what was necessary, and tossing the rest. I generated 7 bags of shredded material, and filled the box in the picture below with that which did not need shredding.....
Six bags there, plus one still in the shredder
We haven't been to our middle daughter's home in a couple of years, and even though we got to see her new baby boy at the birthday party for her daughter, Charlise, we didn't get to spend much time with Levi, so we picked up a couple of pizzas, some salad, and chicken wings for dinner and headed over to Nick and Kate's home around 4:30 pm....
Kate, Levi, Charlise, Jolene and Nick....their oldest son, Elijah, is away at college
.....we spent about 2 hours with them before heading home. They have a beautiful home over looking the Jurupa Valley.
