The bird cage....

7:59 am - Thursday - February 20th - TWW - 41° F, humidity 41%, wind 5 mph out of the southeast.....mostly clear blue skies today with a forecast high of 58° F.  On this date in 2018 I was walking to work at the Grand Canyon....the temperature was 0° F at the time.....

....we did not have a lot of snow that winter, but this snow stayed on the ground until after our departure in early April of that year.

Wednesday was kind of a lazy day for us.  I didn't even change out of my pajamas until early afternoon when Charles and Phyllis arrived for their weekly stay. We have wanted to move the bird cage that sits in the yard in front of the house since we got here back in October, but there were many other more important things to do.  Besides this was really a four person job.  The new location was to be in a group of trees between the house and the CONEX....the area we cleared out recently, and put a rock border around.....

....before the bird cage could be moved we needed to cut cut out a large limb which intruded into the space where the bird cage would sit....

....so I retrieved my 20" Stihl chainsaw to make short work of it.  Once it was removed we attached the pallet forks to the bucket of the Ford 420 loader, and moved the bird cage....

Where the bird cage used to be (in front of where the green tarp is)

....and where it is now

.....in the picture showing the new location of the bird cage you can see what is left of the large limb just to the right of the cage....that is the one we had to remove in order to fit the bird cage into that space.  The bird cage is, obviously, left over from a couple of owners earlier.  They're the ones who also built the dog kennel that we cleaned out a few days ago.  Charles and Phyllis don't have any birds, so the cage is strictly 'lawn art', but it just seems to fit the space better there, than where it was before, and now the front yard is completely cleared....just trees, and our two wood piles are left.

That was pretty much the extent of our day.  It took a while to put everything away, but by 2:30 pm I had changed out of my work clothes, and was taking a nap in my recliner.  Around 4 pm I headed into the house for dinner.  TLE had prepared  'Mississippi Pot Roast' for dinner, with a side of coleslaw prepared by Phyllis.  The pot roast was cooked in a pressure cooker, and the resulting au jus (dipping sauce) was amazing!  I wish I had taken pictures, but I became obsessed with each bite of this amazing pot roast, and completely forgot....lol.

On a final note my blog just passed 2,500,000 views all time....for me that is quite a milestone, and I have you, my loyal readers, to thank....

Thanks for stopping by!
