Snow day 2....

7:40 am - Saturday - March 8th - TWW - 28° F, humidity 67%, wind 6 mph out of the northeast.....crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 55° F.  On this date in 2017 TLE and I were overnighting in Amboy, CA on Route 66.....

For the second consecutive day we awoke to snow on the ground....a lot of snow!  And it was still snowing.  And it snowed all day Friday until around 3 pm.  I appears we got around 6" of snow......

....I had to rake snow off our patio awning twice during the day.  The picture above shows the first time I raked (I used our leaf rake to remove the snow) the snow off the awning, and the second time it was even thicker.  Thankfully this snow was much drier than Thursday's snow, and it came off pretty easily.  It was the same for all the ground based solar panels.  I had to keep them cleared of snow to get as much charge into the big house batteries as possible.  Even with total cloud cover, and snow all day long the big house batteries returned to 93%.....not bad.  Our Newell house batteries got back to 84%, but that was with the Predator 5000 running non-stop all day long.  As I write this morning (Saturday) the sun has returned with the clouds having scuttered away to the east......

....we should have clear skies Saturday and Sunday which will go a long way towards melting the snow, but for now it is a winter wonderland at TWW.  And thus are the perils of living at 5,500 feet during the winter in Northern Arizona are once again revealed.  If we are to give any credence to the long range weather forecast we will have rain/snow again next Wednesday and Thursday.

Thanks for stopping by!
