7:58 am - Sunday - March 9th - TWW - 31° F, humidity 58%, wind 5 mph out of the east by southeast.....crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 63° F. The view this morning.....
.....on this date in 2017 I was riding my bike from Tecopa Hot Springs, CA to Shoshone, CA and back.....27.1 miles.....
.....smack dab in the middle of no where....nothing like newer pavement and a big view!
We fully expected it would take several days before the snow would disappear from the grounds of TWW, but by late morning the great snow melt had been underway for several hours. I managed to scrape all the snow off of our artificial turf....
.....by early afternoon most of the snow around the circular driveway had melted, and the large piles I created were shrinking rapidly. One might think it would take a day, or tow for those large piles of shoveled snow to melt, but one would be wrong.....
....of course, temps rising to the high 50's do make a big difference. I spent time in the morning making sure all of the ground based solar panels were completely clear of snow, pushed a lot of snow off the wooden house deck, and then TLE and I dumped our black tank using the newly installed hardline....it goes so much faster when you don't have to macerate 40 gallons of effluent over 80', uphill.
And that was pretty much the total sum of my outdoor activity, except for grilling a large New York steak for dinner around 3:30 pm. I spent the rest of the day watching the Arnold Palmer Invitational Golf Tournament held at Bay Hill Club and Lodge near Orlando, FL. I've missed watching golf, and even more so, I've missed playing golf. In just over a month we'll be back at LPG&RVR.
A wonderful thing about living in Arizona is you do not have to participate in the semi annual Day Light Savings Time ritual most of the nation goes through every March and October....no running around to change all your clocks and watches to the new time. I'm amazed at how such a simple thing can make me so happy....lol! We won't have to change our clocks until we reenter California late next month.
Next week we head to Los Algodones, Mexico for our annual dental cleanings and checkups. We'll be gone for a few days as we'll stop and visit our good friends Tom and Darlene McCloud in Wittmann for a few days before returning. From that point we will have less than a month until we haul anchor and move back north. We'll start putting stuff away around the 10th of April in advance of our late April departure. Seems hard to believe that almost 5 months have passed here at TWW.
By the way, I got a call from Northern Arizona Dermatology advising that both of my biopsies came back negative for cancer of any kind, so another year with no excisions!
Thanks for stopping by!
