Whose Legacy?

For the first time in a long time we enjoyed an outdoor fire in our portable fireplace.  You will remember this portable fireplace from our time on Padre Island back in March.  The weather from yesterday and last night carried over today with clear skies, and balmy breezes.

We had decided yesterday that we would drive into Seaside today to see The Bourne Legacy at Seaside Cinemas.  The first showing was at 12:10pm, so we arrived about 50 minutes early and did a little shopping in the local outlet stores.  I needed a 3rd pair of shores for our work stint at Amazon.com, and finally settled on a second pair of NB's (New Balance) at the Famous Footwear Outlet Store.  These shoes just fit me immediately, and feel like they are already broken in.   Since we were running short of time before the movie start I put off the purchase until after the movie.

While the weather was quite clear and balmy in Jewell, it was partly sunny (the fog rolled in and out) in Seaside, but chilly.....I was immediately thankful I had brought my polar tech jacket.

We have been fans of the prior three Bourne Movies (Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy, and Bourne Ultimatum), and based on the trailers we had seen it looked like this new incarnation would be good, and we were not disappointed!  The action in this film starts a few minutes in, grabs you by the throat, and does let go until the final scene 2 hours later.

We next ran back across the street and purchased the New Balance shoes, then headed a couple of miles south on HWY 101 to Seaside Brewery to have a late lunch.  We had seen this  brew pub on our way through town a few days ago and wanted to give it a try, and we are both glad we did.  We ate on the second floor which gives one a nice view down to the beach.  We both opted for a pint of Monkey Face Porter made by Cascade Lake Brewing Company, and liked its unusually delicate taste.....not as heavy as some Porters can be.

After a very relaxing late lunch we headed for home and arrived right around 5pm.....a nice day with nice memories.

Thanks for stopping by!
