An alternate alfresco...

7:56 am - Sunday - November 22nd - Seal Rock, OR - 36° F, 93% humidity, wind 9 mph out of the east.....cloudy today with a forecast of rain, and a high of 49° F.  On this date in 2017 we were sitting down to a fire at our Desert View campsite at the east entrance of the Grand Canyon....I had only deployed a few yard lights at this point......↴

Saturday we enjoyed our second consecutive day with lots of blue sky, and sun, but without precipitation.  After watching a couple of English Premier soccer matches, including one involving our favorite team, Tottenham Hot Spurs, versus Manchester City.  It was another in a succession of well played matches by the Hot Spurs which saw them prevail 2-0, and recording another 'clean sheet' (no goals allowed).  With the win they moved into first place for the first time in a long time.

Around 1 pm we ventured out in the VW south to Waldport and Hilltop Cafe Bistro for lunch.  This little restaurant garners 4.5 stars on over 300 reviews on Yelp.  We have driven by this popular local eatery located on a hill (of course) just south of Waldport many times, and always planned to check them out.  We knew they were open for business, but we did not know it was only for takeout, and the only way you can order is via phone, or online....

.....we wanted to eat our lunch choices alfresco, however, the outdoor dining area was completely in the shade at 2 pm, but with the ambient temperature just barely topping 50° F at the time that was not in the cards, so we placed our orders online, retrieved them from the takeout window and headed back into Waldport to sit by the Alsea River at a little city park....

.....TLE ordered their Seared (sesame seed encrusted) Ahi Tuna salad, and I their Chicken Caesar Salad.  Both were scrumptious!  I chased my salad with a 16 oz. coffee.  We lingered there for almost an hour enjoying salads, and the warmth of the day.......

.....we had a pretty nice unobstructed view of the river channel, except for our car....lol.  We were home around 3:15 pm.  We had decided Friday evening that we would have a fire Saturday night, so as soon as we arrived home I set about preparing the firepit, pulling out a couple of chairs, and turning on the music in the trailer.  By 4 pm we were sitting by the fire listening to some Sinatra on XM Radio, and awaiting the anticipated sunset around 4:43 pm.......

....a cigar for moi, and brandy for both of us was in order as we watched the afternoon slip slowly into darkness of early evening.....

....we were treated to another beautiful sunset, and a simultaneous moonrise......

.....love the ambiance of of our site.....just about perfect, right?  We were back inside a little after 5 pm....a perfect sunset fire.......
