City of Lincoln......

9:25 am - Saturday - January 9th - Seal Rock, OR - 41° F, 87% humidity, wind 9 mph out of the east......partly cloudy today with a forecast high of 51° F, and rain this evening.  On this date in 2013 TLE and I were having lunch with our long time friend, Ernie Prociw (pronounced Procee) at the Big Deck Bar and Grill in Cedar Key, FL......↴

We have not eaten out since November 21st when we ordered takeout from Hilltop Cafe Bistro in Waldport, and then took our orders over to the city park to eat them at one of the picnic tables.  We had no plans when we awoke Friday morning to change that, but by 11 am we had decided we would drive north to Lincoln City to have lunch at a place where we could 'dine in', and that place ended up being Kyllo's At the Beach.  We left around 12:15 pm for the 45 minute drive up to Lincoln City arriving at Kyllo's around 1 pm......

....Kyllo's currently does not accept reservations, so it is all first come, first served......we were lucky to snag a table with a view.  In spite of the onerous restrictions imposed by the People's Republic of Oregon, Kyllo's was quite busy, even an hour, or two after the normal 'lunch hour'.  We were seated within seconds of our arrival in the lobby at a lovely table with a view....

....we quickly placed our drink orders.....a Mac & Jacks African Ale for moi, and for TLE a glass of their Chenin Blanc Viognier (white wine).  For our meals I ordered their house salad, and their Char Grilled Chicken Club sandwich, and for TLE a house salad and their Oregon Petite Shrimp Cocktail.....

.....words are not adequate to convey how nice it was to go to a restaurant to 'dine in' for the first time in 6 weeks....it has been far to long!  Both the food and service were exceptional, and the view did not hurt anything.  Whenever we dine out along the coast it is imperative for us to find a restaurant with an ocean view, otherwise what is the point?

It has also been too long since we went junking.  On our way into town we spied a large Goodwill 'Super Center', so on our way out of town we stopped off to see if we could find anything without which we could not live.  I found a new Hawaiian shirt, and TLE some shorts, and some leggings......good to be back in the saddle again!

We stopped off at Copeland Lumber in Newport on the way home to buy some sheet aluminum, which I will use to cover the hole above the fridge. Stay tuned for that installation!

Thanks for stopping by!
