I'm not a prepper.....

7:58 am - Tuesday - January 12th - Seal Rock, OR - 52° F, 100% humidity, wind 36 mph out of the south by southwest......rained all night, raining now, and will rain all day today with a forecast high of 54° F.  On this date in 2017 we were having our Newell serviced at All Aboard America in Mesa, AZ......↴

I was called off work Monday due to rain, and it appears that will be the case on Tuesday, and probably Wednesday.  I was able to work 1.5 hours on Sunday, but it was just too wet to do very much beyond that 1.5 hours.

Around mid morning Monday, since I was called off work we drove into Waldport so I could get a prescription filled, stopped briefly at Ray's, then headed into Newport to Fred Meyers to do a very, very big shopping.  Between Ray's and Fred Meyers we bought enough food to last us two to three weeks.  On the way home we topped off the VW gas tank.  Our fresh water tank is full......160 gallons full, and we have enough gasoline to run our small Honda generator for a couple of weeks.  If you have been watching the news, and feel a little uneasy about that which you are seeing unfold you should fee uneasy.  We live in perilous times where half the voting age population of the nation is being demonized, and threatened with reprisals for supporting the wrong political party.  All of the major social media platforms have cut off anyone who questions the election results, or has a contrary political opinion.  Banks are freezing accounts of prominent companies, and politicians who occupy the right side of the aisle.....it is a scary time.

So, I say all that to say this.....take reasonable precautions to be sure you have adequate cash on hand, food, water, fuel, etc. for the next few weeks.  Maybe it will blow over, but maybe it won't....maybe it will get worse.  I believe it will get worse before it gets better.  Please understand....I am not what you would call a 'prepper', but I also have two eyes and two ears and see and hear what is going on around me.  This is a dark time in our nation's history.

There are a number of people in my life whom I have known for years, and have my utmost respect in all areas of life.  They are anything but conspiracy theorists, so when they call me and tell me to be concerned, then I get VERY concerned.

I have said for years, and on numerous occasions right here on my blog, that the corruption inside the Beltway is widespread, and overwhelming.  Both political parties are corrupt.  I am not disputing that there may be a handful who may be honest, but the number is far too small to counterbalance the widespread corruption. All three branches of government have been compromised.  The lines of demarcation between branches of government have been so blurred there is really no separation of powers any longer....they all work together now, and it is not for our good that they do so.
