7:58 am - Sunday - January 10th - Seal Rock, OR - 48° F, 94% humidity, wind - CALM.....heavy cloud cover today, rain later with a forecast high of 51° F. On this date in 1978 my father, Arthur Ray Hockwald, passed away.....gone too soon......still miss you every day Dad.....↴
Once again, Saturday, we awoke to NO rain. By 8:30 am we could see sunlight hitting Seal Rock, and knew it was going to be a nice day.....a nice day to finish our refrigerator project! My first task was to drill three holes in the top metal flange of the Dometic into the piece of wood I cut to fit the space.......
.....once that was done I then drilled two holes vertically through the wood piece into the formica covered wood above it so I could insert two 3" torque screws to hold the fridge in place when traveling.......
.....next on the to do list was to cut out a piece of aluminum from the roll I purchased at Copeland Lumber (2.25" x 24.5"), then spray paint it black, and finally place it over the gap, and screw it in using 8 black screws.......
....once that was done I was able to attach the final trim piece which has the Dometic logo on it......
......looks pretty good, doesn't it? It is not a perfect solution, but I have learned over the years to not let perfect be the enemy of good....it's not perfect, but it looks good!
Later in the day I removed three non-functioning Xmas light strings and replaced them with some commercial grade ones I bought on Amazon. I'm hoping the commercial grade ones will last longer in this salty air environment than the old ones.
On a final note, I will be leaving Facebook, and Instagram on January 20th, so if you have been relying upon the link to my latest blog post I put up each day there you will need to move to MeWe, or Parler to get that link. An alternative will be to copy this link (whatsnewell.blogspot.com) to my blog, and create a shortcut on your desktop, or home page on your phone. My reason for leaving Facebook and Instagram is personal, and I'm sure many of you will understand what that reason is.
Thanks for stopping by!
When you shop Amazon, please use our link (below) to access their website.......we will appreciate every purchase you make using our Amazon Affiliate link, and remember, using our link will not add one penny to your purchase, plus we will receive a small commission which over the course of a year adds up to enough to by a tank of diesel for which we thank you very much!
