Site cleaning......

8:16 am - Wednesday - October 26th - GNHS - 58° F, 30% humidity, wind 4 mph out of the south by southeast.....crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 80° F.  On this date in 2013 TLE and I were in Ogden, UT at Roosters Brewing Company....a very funky place....our kind of place.....↴

I still owe you Monday's blog post, so here goes.  I'll definitely put up the post about Tuesay later today as we are off work today.

TLE and I were assigned to do a round of site cleaning Monday after the workaday folks headed back to their workaday lives........

.....we started work around 7:15 am, taking a 15 minute break at 9:15 am, then worked until  11:30 am at which time we took our one hour lunch break, then returned at 12:30 pm  finishing at 2:30 pm....our longest workday yet.  Over that 6 hours we managed to clean all the sites outlined in red.  TLE, using a picker picked up plastic bottles, cigarette butts, aluminum bottle caps, etc. while I dragged a large rolling magnet to pick up all the metal objects (screws, washers, nails, staples, metal bottle caps, etc.)....

....this thing has a very powerful magnet, and below is a sample of what it pulls out of the ground over just 3 sites.....it is amazing the stuff people leave behind.  For the record, I think this is the first time in a long time the rolling magnet has been used.....

.....in all we cleaned around 55 sites in 6 hours.

Later in the afternoon we deployed our EZ-UP awning for the first time since we were in Meeker, CO back in May of 2020, and our red umbrella from LPG&RVR......

....one thing we are loving about GNHS is the big view to the west, and the beautiful, unobstructed sunsets we get pretty much every evening......

.....thanks for stopping by!
