Cinco de Mayo snow storm.....

06:11 am - Monday - May 6th - LPG&RVR - 33° F, humidity 78%, wind 3 mph out of the southwest....heavy cloud dover this morning, but no rain in the forecast until this evening, and a forecast high of 52° F.  On this date in 2017 TLE and I were at Tahoe Valley Campground, and it was snowing....not unusual for May in the Sierras.....

Sunday was another those days where you show up for work believing, pretty much, that there will be little, or no work, but the forecast changes, and you manage to get in 5 hours of work before the snow begins to fall...yup, snow on Cinco de Mayo.  We had a small dusting of snow overnight, but not much stuck except to our Club Car Villager #20....

....the temp outside was around 30° F, and I was wearing  an Under Armor base layer shirt, a long sleeve LPG&RVR shirt, a vest, snow board gloves, long pants, thermal socks, and my jacket, but still wasn't warm enough.....

......while I did not stage a single golf cart Sunday morning, I did make one round of the golf course to check on our fowl friends, the geese and ducks, to see what they left for me.  They had been busy since I last visited the the tee boxes at hole number three on Friday.  As I made my way around the course I found the flags at holes #6, and 7 had been blown down by the winds we've had the past two days, but that was the extent of the 'damage'.  I returned to the Clubhouse around 10 am and headed directly inside to warm my extremities.

Once I was warm I headed back out to do a little string trimming around the large pavilion, the large grass area in the parking lot, and other areas before it got too cold, and began to snow....

....by this time it was around 11:30 am.  I sent TLE home for her lunch break, knowing that once she returned my work day would be done.  It snowed the rest of the afternoon, and into the early evening.  After TLE's return I ordered lunch (the menu Sunday featured an all Mexican line up), which consisted of Shrimp Fajitas for moi.....very, very good Mexican cuisine!

I spent the balance of the afternoon in the warm confines of the Newell watching the final round of the latest PGA tour event, enjoyed a long nap, and then returned to the Clubhouse around 5 pm to retrieve TLE, and head back home.....it was still snowing.  Even though it did snow all afternoon, it was never heavy, and none of it stuck to the ground, which is typical of April and May snow in the Pitt River Valley.

Thanks for stopping by!
