Game Day

This is the first Saturday of NCAA football....of course there were a few games during the week, including Boise State v. Michigan, which was a close game.....but today is the real kick off for NCAA football, and I began my day early and have been watching football all day.  As I write, USC is thumping Hawaii 35-0 at half time, and Alabama is schooling the University of Michigan 31-7 at half time.  Next up is Oklahoma U v. UTEP (University of Texas at El Paso.....see, UTEP is much easier).  Typically these first games involving the top 25 are necessarily close games.  The first game up was Penn State v. University of Ohio.  Penn was up early, but ended up losing 24-14 at home.

Around 2pm we had a brief thunder storm that cooled things off, and settled the dust.

It has been a lazy day, and it has been fun watching so much college football.  Normally, in my former life as a soccer referee, I would have been at the soccer pitch most of today, and tomorrow, but I am no longer a professional soccer referee.....I am now a professional nomad, living on the road, and exploring America, and, if I wish, I can watch college football all day.

As you can tell from the top picture, I actually got out the "outside" flatscreen TV to watch football.  We've been hauling that TV around for 7 months, and finally I had a reason to get it out.

The weather was spectacular today....crystal clear blue skies early, and then heavy cloud cover with tuner and rain, then clear as the sun sets in the west.  Around 5:30pm I got out the BBQ and grilled four chicken breasts, and corn, and TLE made green beans and rice.

I know, not a very exciting day, but just the kind of day I was hoping for.

Thanks for stopping by!
