Move it out!

7:22 am - Thursday - March 21st - Fontana, CA - 50º F, 83% humidity, wind 3 mph out of the south by southeast.......cloudy, rainy today with a forecast high of 58º F.

We began Wednesday under threat of rain, and it came in fits and starts, but when it began to rain it was steady, and hard at times.  In between all the fits and starts TLE and I drove over to my son's office to help him load a flatbed trailer with an old, large, wood entertainment center that had become obsolete with the advent of wall mounted flat screen TV's, plus some old room dividers which needed to go to the landfill out in Fontana.

This was the first heavy lifting I have done since my last operation, and this stuff was heavy.  Nonetheless, my endurance and strength seem to have sufficiently returned that I did well.  After unloading our burden at the landfill we drove down to the Fontana/Rialto Elks Lodge to meet TLE who had returned from Chris' office to helped us load the pile of stuff in the trailer I photographed for you yesterday.  We then took that load back to Chris' office where we placed most of the items on industrial grade metal shelving we purchased for just this purpose some 12 years ago.

Once that was done I once again assisted Chris in loading 6 very old file cabinets that have been stored in his warehouse for a decade, plus our old Splendid Washer/Dryer.  With the advent of digital files these file cabinets have become obsolete.  Once we had them loaded we headed to a local scrap metal recycling business which gave Chris $50 for the file cabinets, which more than covered the $22 it cost us at the landfill.

We were home by 2:30 pm, and I was taking a nice nap within 30 minutes.   I was very pleased with my physical performance Wednesday, and how I felt at the end of about 5 hours of loading and unloading a trailer 3 times each.  I don't think I could have done this 10 days ago.

'March Madness' is now upon us once again, and I spent the rest of the afternoon, and early evening watching two NCAA Basketball games, and was in bed by 10:30 pm.  Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be wall to wall NCAA Basketball.....one of my favorite times of the year!
