Rained out......

7:25 am - Wednesday - October 14th - Seal Rock, OR - 50° F, 100% humidity, wind - CALM.....partly cloudy today with a forecast high of 59° F.  On this date in 2017 we awoke to 5" of snow on the ground at Ririe Reservoir outside of Idaho Falls, ID.....it had been partly cloudy late afternoon the day before.......↴

Late afternoon......

.....the next morning

Tuesday was the first day since we arrived one month ago that I was not able to go to work due to rain.  It rained most of Monday night, and was still raining at 10 am Tuesday morning.  I received a text from Terry advising I would be on standby due to the rain.  TLE, however, did go to work in the office for another 3 hour shift beginning at 9 am....she has already worked 13 hours this week....almost enough to cover our rent singlehandedly.....cool!

After taking care of a few 'housekeeping' details (take the flag down due to high winds was one of those details) outside in the pouring rain just after TLE went to work I was back inside within a few minutes, pretty wet, drying off, and settling in to read.  Nothing much better than sitting in front of the fireplace drinking coffee and reading a book while being serenaded by rain on the aluminum roof.....not much.

The morning passed quickly, and soon TLE was home shortly after noon, and it had stopped raining by that time.  The skies never cleared, but it did begin to dry out somewhat.  Around 1 pm we took a drive into Waldport to pick up a few grocery items at Ray's, and whilst TLE did that I walked across the street to the local Ace Hardware store to buy some water proofing, and a couple of LED light bulbs.  TLE was almost done by the time I got back to the store, and we were in the VW heading home shortly after that.  There was more reading in the afternoon, and that was the sum total of our day.
