Up on the roof......

8:27 am - Saturday - October 17th - Seal Rock, OR - 54° F, 94% humidity, wind - CALM.....partly sunny today with a forecast high of 59° F.  On this date in 2015 my middle daughter, Katharine, was married to Nick, a good man......↴

When we shopped at Ray's in Waldport a few days ago we bought a pound of their 'pepper' bacon.  We've bought a couple of pounds previously of their regular bacon and liked it, so Friday (our Saturday) I set up the Coleman Butane single burner along with our square cast iron skillet to cook it up.....

Who doesn't have a big smile when cooking bacon?

......nothing like an ocean view with bacon smoke wafting through the picture.......

.....while I so toiled, and I use that word in jest, TLE picked some blackberries from the bushes right in our site......yeah, living off the land in Coastal Oregon.....lol........

......TLE provided toast and fried eggs to accompany the 'pepper' bacon.  OMG that bacon is quite addicting!

I received a text from Amazon that my newly ordered compact expanding garden hose had arrived, and was ready for pickup at the Seal Rock USPS, about a 1/4 mile away, so I drove over after breakfast to retrieve it.....

.....it's a 50 footer.  I've carried around one of these for years, and like using it to wash the roof of the Newell, and the fact that it shrinks up small enough to fit in a small bag.  The one I had exploded the other day when I was cleaning the radiator, so I immediately ordered a new one.

Needless to say, I spent time after returning from the USPS washing off many months of grime from the Newell roof.  Once that was done I washed down each side of the Newell, plus the front and rear removing a couple of months of sea salt.  By the time I finished wiping the sides down, and putting away everything it was after 2 pm....where did the day go?    We had planned to walk down to Seal Rock Beach with our Tommy Bahama chairs again, but by the time I cooled down, and took it a short nap, it was approaching 3 pm, and beginning to get chilly once again.

As the afternoon slipped away clouds began to move into the area portending the forecast rain Friday night.  It eventually began to rain shortly after 1:30 am, and rained for several hours, stopping just before sunrise. I love it when it rains at night, and we get sun during the day! As I write the skies have cleared, and we are in for a nice, sunny day on the Oregon Coast.
