Fairwinds.....

7:39 am - Tuesday - May 18th - Seal Rock, OR - 46° F, 93% humidity, wind - zero mph out of the north.  We have a surprisingly clear day in store for us and a forecast high of 54° F.  On this date in 2012 we were at a rest stop north of Odgen, UT.......↴

We awoke to the fine mist that was falling when we went to bed, and apparently continued all night long.  It was still misting about 9:45 am, but it finally quit, and we actually got a little sun.....just in time for me to go to work.

Monday I was tasked with clearing the weeds from the cracks of the large entrance deck at Fairwinds which consists of hundreds of pavers.  I last performed that task back in November.  It is not one of my favorite things to do.  It is very tedious, and requires numerous breaks to restring the Stihl string trimmer as the concrete pavers chew up the string quickly.  It is so tedious it took me over two hours to get the job done.  Fred and I then spent another hour plus pruning some of the trees on the side of the house.  It hasn't been rented for a while, but the first rental of the season is coming up this Wednesday.  Hopefully the contractor will be done building the new deck I wrote about a couple of weeks ago.  All that being said, I like working up at Fairwinds as it is outside the park, and I don't have to wear my face mask.....the less I have to wear it the better, right?

I was home around 1:30 pm.....TLE went to work at 9 am for her four hour shift, and was still home before me.  It's been about 10 days since I dumped our black tank, and so it fell to me, the outside guy, to dump it and gain another 10 days until duty calls once again.  It used to take about 20-25 minutes to dump and flush the tank 3 times, but the water pressure up here on the hill has improved significantly, and now it takes about 10-12 minutes.  When water pressure is low it takes a while to fill the 40 gallon tank each time, so it can be dumped again.

It was still breezy Monday, but the intensity has abated somewhat.  Hoping that trend will continue, and we can get back to the lovely spring conditions we were experiencing 10 days ago.  As the sun began its relentless dive into the sea on the western horizon, the mist returned, and eventually it turned to rain....a nice gentle rain, and a nice way to end another day at SRRVC.
