7:33 am - Monday - May 24th - Seal Rock, OR - 50° F, 88% humidity, wind 13 mph out of the south.....cloudy, drizzly....forecast high for today is 53° F. On this day one year ago we were touring Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction, CO......↴
It began raining just before 10 am Sunday, and continued to do so well into the afternoon. No worries though.....Sunday was the final round of this year's PGA Championship, and we planned to be sitting in front of our TV t watch it all unfold. Phil Mickelson, at 50+ years of age, was leading by one stroke at 7 under par as he began the final 18 holes. The first 6 holes the lead flip flopped back and forth between Brooks Koepka and Phil, but at the end as the fans surrounded the 18th green,
Phil stood alone at 6 under par leading two other golfers by 2 strokes, and history was made.......
Isn't it great to see big crowds again?
.....he became the oldest professional golfer to win a Major at 50 years, and 11 months of age. What a day!
The only other thing we did Sunday was to do a practice 'packing' for our trip to Spokane next Friday via Alaska Airlines. We'll only be gone for 4 days, but we are going to a wedding, and there will be numerous wedding events for which we will need to dress up in our Sunday best....could we get everything into two suitcases, and a suitor? The answer at the end of the day was yes, but barely.
During that process both TLE and I, inevitably, began to thin out our clothing herd just a tad, ending up with one large black trash bag full of used clothing to be donated to Goodwill the next time we venture north to Lincoln City.
And so, with the finish of the PGA Championship our second three day weekend came to a conclusion.
