Installation day.....

7:48 am - Mother's Day - May 9th - Seal Rocks, OR - 46° F, 100% humidity, wind - zero mph out of the north....partly cloudy today with a forecast high of 57° F.  On this date one year ago we had just arrived at Goosenecks State Park, UT....one of our favorite boondock sites.......↴

Saturday was dedicated solely to the installation of the new gooseneck kitchen faucet I wrote about yesterday.  After breakfast I headed solo into Waldport to revisit ACE Hardware in search of the correct adapters so I could complete the installation of the new faucet.  This time I took the faucet with me, and after about 20 minutes of trying numerous combinations of fittings I found one that worked......

The old faithful Moen kitchen faucet.....40 years old

Faucet removed....I'll have to enlarge the hole for the new faucet using my Craftsman jigsaw attachment

New faucet installed

Click on the picture to enlarge....it took two different brass fittings to get from the 3/4" male flange fitting down to the 9/16" female fitting from the faucet

.....the removal of the old faucet, and installation of the new one went quite smoothly.  I did have to enlarge the hole through which all of the water lines are run, but that was easily done using the jigsaw attachment on my Craftsman drill body.  Then it was down to checking for leaks of which there were a couple, but over the course of a few hours of tightening, and then rechecking everything is now dry.  While the space beneath the kitchen sink area is cramped, it is extremely spacious compared to that under the bathroom sink.  In all I think I spent about 4 hours of actual work from beginning to end.
