Delayed gratification.....

8:16 am - Sunday - October 10th - Coupeville, WA - 51° F, 74% humidity, wind 15 out of the west.....partly cloudy today with a forecast high of 55° F.  On this date in 2010 TLE and I were in Santa Fe, NM with good friends Forest and Cindy.......↴

We had but one purpose Saturday.....drive 48 miles over to Mt. Vernon, WA to pick up parts for the John Deere 830B tractor before the supplier, Papé Equipment, closed at 12 noon.  We were in Karen's 2005 Infiniti SUV driving north on SR-20 by 9 am, and reached Papé Equipment around 10:15 am.  I retrieved the parts from Mike at the parts desk, compared them to the old parts from the JD to confirm their usefulness before beginning our 48 mile drive back to Coupeville.

We had a few stops planned in Oak Harbor (Home Depot, Ace Hardware, and Napa Auto Parts).  By the time we finished in those three stores it was after 12 pm so we continued our drive back to Coupeville deciding to stop off at Penn Cove Taproom for lunch......they get 4.5 stars on 62 reviews on Yelp.....

.....we were last here in September of 2020 on our way to Seal Rock.  They offer a great hot dog with chips for $5 each, and have very good brews.  I chose a pint of their Coup's Private Reserve Amber Lager, and TLE a pint of their Saratoga Milk Stout to pair with the hot dogs.....

.....we are definitely in our happy spot whenever we can spend time enjoying good brews and good food......

......both brews were top notch, and the hot dogs were as good as I remembered!  The brews cost more than the hot dogs....lol!

As we arrived home it began to sprinkle, and within 30 minutes it was raining as it would continue to do into the night....we weren't expecting that.  At any rate, due to the unexpected rain Bob and I decided to defer gratification, and installation of the new parts to Sunday when it should be sunny one again.  We are both hoping that by the end of the day Sunday the JD 830B will be running once again....fingers crossed!
