Maverick......

7:14 am - Wednesday - January 4th - GNHS - 55° F, humidity 75%, wind 3 mph out of the southeast.....cloudy today with a forecast high of 65° F.  On this date in 2016 TLE and I were hiking with good friends to see the rock snake sculpture off Rock House Road, near Borrego Springs, CA.....↴

......we were all boondocking there a few days after New Years.  Met Michael at Amazon in 2012, and Steven and Linda when we were lighthouse docents a Cape Blanco Lighthouse back in 2013.

I tried to sleep in Tuesday, but I was awake before 6 am, and out of bed shortly thereafter.....TLE held on a tad longer, but was pouring a cup of coffee within 10 minutes....what is wrong with us?....LOL.

Basically we just kind of lazed around all morning before taking one of our loop walks around the perimeter of GNHS.  The distance varies each time from 1.21 to 1.23 miles....why I don't know, it just does.  We made the circuit in about 21 minutes covering 1.22 miles this time whilst averaging 3.4 mph....

.....TLE prepared pot roast, baked potatoes, and green beans for our dinner (YUM!), and we played 'Phase 10' on the 'lido deck', then enjoyed a nice evening fire before heading inside for the night around 7:30 pm.  TLE whipped my butt in 'Phase 10' winning by 3 phases....the cards just did not fall my way on this evening.  The second time in succession my luck has run in the wrong direction.

We've been meaning to watch 'Top Gun: Maverick' since it recently became available on Paramount (streaming channel), and decided to watch it Tuesday evening......

....I am usually quite sceptical of sequels, especially when the original was so good, but on this occasion I have to say this sequel of 'Top Gun' was perhaps even better than the first installment.  Man, that Tom Cruise still looks pretty good after 36 years!  My only regret is not having been able to see it on the big screen.  Nevertheless, we both highly recommend it.....big screen, or small screen....you will like it.

Well, it is off to La Quinta in about an hour (today, Wednesday) to get a haircut, and do some small shopping, and perhaps get some lunch.  Talk to you tomorrow!
