Saturday happenings......

 6:59 am - Sunday - January 8th - GNHS - 45° F, humidity 70%, wind 3 mph out of the south by southeast.....partly cloudy today with a forecast high of 69° F. The view this morning.....↴

....I really do no like to be up before the sunrises, but when I look out the window and see an interesting sunrise about to occur I feel compelled to get up, put some clothes on, head outside, and take a picture, or two.  On this date in 2019 TLE and I were hiking along the Crooked River near St. Mary, GA......

Once again we had no advance bookings for Saturday, but we opened the office at 9 am just in case we had some walkup business.  Just as it was on Friday, there are still very few people in the park right now, so the odds of getting any walkup business was still pretty slim.

I continued my 'deferred maintenance' program by working on the doors, and seat rails of KRX #8.  I partially disassembled each door in order to reach in and lube the latching mechanisms....

......to just expose the upper area of the door interior I must remove 5 plastic fasteners, and 7 screws.  To completely remove all the door skins I would need to remove 9 additional screws......

.....I was able to employ the new kneeling pad I bought off Amazon recently......

.....I've been using a flattened cardboard box to kneel upon, but my 73 year old knees really need a little more cushion, so I went with an inch and a half thick pad.....much more comfortable, but getting up after you have kneeled is still a challenge.....lol.

I mentioned the new tool I ordered off Amazon which will help when replacing a drive belt, so I took a picture of it with the stock tool which comes with each RZR/KRX.  It has a much broader surface than the tools Polaris and Kawasaki provide, and grips better so one can release the tension on the pully on to which you are attempting to install the belt......

The new tool is on the left, and the stock tool is on the right....the difference is significant!

......by 1 pm there was still no walkup business so we closed the office for the day, and contacted Casey (one of our bosses) to suggest he close off Sunday for rentals as it does not appear we will have any business, and there is no point in him paying us to watching the office for 4 hours.

TLE and I had dinner on the 'lido deck', played a spirited game of 'Phase 10' won by moi on the final hand, then had an evening fire until almost 8 pm....a nice way to end the day.  We were also treated to a nice sunset....

Isn't her hair getting long?

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. - By the way we will be in Poway, CA tomorrow morning attending to our doctors appointments, so I will not be writing, or posting a blog post about Sunday until Monday afternoon, when we return from our overnight jaunt.
