Championship Saturday.....

7:55 am - Sunday - December 5th - Anza Borrego Desert, CA - 56° F, 27% humidity, wind 4 mph out of the west......crystal, clear, blue skies today with a forecast high of 84° F.  The view this morning.....↴

.....and on this date in 2012 we had bought our first Christmas tree for the Newell.....

I was feeling much better Saturday morning, and it was obvious my 'cold' was waning, but I decided to spend another day inside resting, napping, drinking copious amounts of liquids, and watching NCAA College football from 9 am to 8 pm courtesy our 2,000 watt inverter.  Our solar panels had us at 100% by 10 am, and it stayed right there until just after 4 pm as the sun began to slide down the western slopes of the local mountains.

There were numerous upsets on Championship Friday/Saturday.  #17 University of Utah upset #10 Oregon, #3 Alabama upset #1 Georgia, #9 Baylor upset #5 Oklahoma State, and  unranked Utah State upset #19 San Diego State.  #4 Cincinnati defeated #21 Houston to remain in the top 4, #2 Michigan defeated, quite thoroughly, # 13 Iowa State 42-3 to remain in the top 4, and win the Big 10 Championship. There was something for everyone....no one loves upsets more than I, which is why I love college football....on any given Saturday the underdog can upset the favored.

It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, there were numerous naps dispersed throughout the day, a lot of Kleenex tissues were used, and disposed of as my sinuses slowly disgorged their holdings.  My condition, and mental outlook steadily improved throughout the day.

My daughter Meredith called early evening, after hearing I had a cold, to be sure it was only a cold, and not the Wuhan Flu.  She had COVID very early in the year, had very few symptoms, and was over it in a few days.  Her anti-body count, though, is still quite high, even as I write, so she appears to have achieved natural immunity without the aid of modern science.

With my attention riveted to the TV as the eventide approached, I missed the latest sunset, but did manage to catch the afterglow.....

....and thus another mystical, magical Anza Borrego Desert day came to an end.
