Highs and lows......

5:50 am - Sunday - July 14th - LPG&RVR - 72° F, humidity42°, wind 3 mph out of the south by southeast.....cloudy today with a forecast high of 86° F.....first time under 90° F in 10 days!  On this date in 2020 we continued our summer travels in rural America....here we are heading west on I-90 through Wyoming.....

....this was the summer of the Wuhan flu.  In rural America life continued on, unabated, and pretty normally.  A good choice on our part.

We were up at 6 am Saturday, and walking by 6:25 am....our earliest yet.  We managed to average 3.2 mph for the walk, and thanks to some modest cloud cover it was still in the low 60's when we returned home....

Look at those long morning shadows!

....upon our return I immediately got busy with a couple of projects.....the first being to fix one of our wind chimes by reattaching one of the chimes.  The second task was to sew a few of the tabs on each of our umbrellas which had torn, allowing the metal rods, which support the fabric, to push through.  That was actually easier than reattaching the chime....lol.  By the time I finished it was beginning to get warm, and the mosquitoes were making their presence known, so it was time to head indoors.

I watched the end of the 3rd round of the Scottish Open, then moved over to watch the 14th Stage of Le Tour in its entirety.  The race has been pretty static for the past few days, but on this day Tadej Pogacar stretched his overall lead from 1 minute 14 seconds to 1 minute 57 seconds by winning the Stage in dramatic fashion.

The high temperature of the day got to 'just' 97° F....a nice change in the right direction.  We headed over to the Clubhouse at 4 pm for the weekly putting contest.  I putted well in the first round, and frankly, very well in the second round, but I made one mistake on the 4th hole, and lost 1-0....doh.  My opponent made several long 2nd putts over 4 feet to keep pace with me.  Four of my 5 second putts were less than 12", but I just barely missed an easy 2.5 foot putt when it 'lipped' out, and 'that was the game', as they say.

It sprinkled a little during the putting contest, but it was just teasing.  Then we got strong winds for about 2 hours before things settled down for the night, however, it never really cooled down Saturday night, and we awoke this morning (Sunday) to a temperature of 71° F....the highest low this summer!  Thankfully it will be a cloudy, much cooler day today (Sunday).

Thanks for stopping by!
