Relief is in sight.....

10:33 am - Friday - July 12th - LPG&RVR - 89° F, humidity 14%, wind 8 mph out of the south by southwest......clear, blue skies today with a forecast high of 100° F.  On this date in 2014 TLE and I were eating dinner at Tahoe Valley Campground in South Lake Tahoe, CA.....medium rare filet mignon, mashed potatoes, broccoli and Pino Noir.....

When it is hot, like has been for the past week, and you're in the middle of your 4 day weekend, you do as much as possible outdoors before it gets hot, then you retreat into the cool confines of your air conditioned home for the balance of the day.  We've had more 100° + days this summer than the prior two summers combined, but the forecast shows us dropping into the low to mid 90's beginning Sunday....so relief is in sight.  Up until 9 days ago I was still wearing a sweatshirt to work first thing in the morning, but all of that is now a fond, distant memory.

TLE and I managed to begin our 2 mile out and back walk around 7:20 am....really too late, but we did it anyway.  We should have started an hour earlier, and I'm sure by our third day of the current 4 day weekend we will succeed in that endeavor.....

.....we managed to pick up the pace from the mediocre 2.9 mph Wednesday, back to a respectable 3.2 mph, but it was quite warm by the time we finished at 8:10 am.  Note to self.....get up earlier, and walk earlier!

Upon our return we quickly changed clothes and drove Club Car Villager #20 over to the Clubhouse to have coffee on the deck....we haven't done that this year, and I'm wondering why not...lol!  It is always so pleasant there, especially before it gets too hot.....

....we spent an hour, or so relaxing, drinking coffee, and talking with Dennis, our boss.  He is such a nice guy!

Once we returned to the Newell we were indoors for the balance of the day, staying cool, calm, and collected while our wonderful A/C made the Newell interior quite comfortable!  I watched, in full, Stage 12 of  Le Tour de France, and even part of the Scottish Open.  The Open (British) is next weekend, and TLE and I will be off work for all four days of the tournament.....nice!

The outside temperature did not get below 80° F until after 9 pm, but it did, and that makes for a much more pleasant sleeping experience.  We were in bed before 9:30 pm with the intention of being up around 6 am to take our 2 mile out and back walk on Friday before 6:30 am.....will we succeed?

Thanks for stopping by!
