First things.....

8:07 am - Friday - October 31st - TWW - 51° F, humidity 15%, wind 3 mph out of the southeast.....partially cloudy today with a forecast high of 75° F.  On this date in 2016 TLE and I were boondocking near Tuttle Creek just south of Lone Pine, CA....

....in the shadow of Mt. Whitney, and in the middle of the Alabama Hills (many westerns were shot in this area in the 50's and 60s').

There are so many things to be done here at The Wilson Wilderness, but before any of them can be done we need to create our environment.  First task was to begin emptying the trailer of things that will be kept in the garage this winter, and pull out the single Bluetti we use to power up the trailer.  And, of course, we would then need to pull out the two 325 watt solar panels we use to keep the Bluetti battery charged.....that is a lot of work all by itself.....

....but we got it done.  I had thought we might get out all of our artificial turf by the end of the day, but it was not to be.  By 2 pm we were both 'out of gas', and dinner was going to be at 3:30 pm since Charles and Phyllis were heading back to Phoenix after dinner.  We won't see them again until next Wednesday.  It'll be just TLE and I for the next six days.

I did manage to get up the sun screen we use here, only.  It protects the 'lido deck' from the afternoon sun, and that's all we really need.  We want the sun to hit the side of the coach in the morning to warm up our interior.  Right now our overnight lows are in the low 40's, but the 30's are just a few days away....

.....it was a good first day, and there were a lot of other things we did get done, but there is still a ways to go before the area between the coach and trailer is finished.

Friday we'll tilt the roof top solar panels, pull out the turf, and begin organizing the trailer interior for the winter.  I hope by the end of the weekend we'll have the 'lido deck' where we want it.

We had a nice dinner with Charles and Phyllis, our second since we returned.  We always enjoy dinner time in the house where great food is always the norm, and interesting conversation is like dessert.  We talked about the many things we would like to get accomplished this winter, including wrapping the greenhouse, sealing the barn roof against rain, adding more batteries to the solar system, cutting firewood for the house wood burning stove, etc.  By 5:00 pm Charles and Phyllis were on their way home.

Thanks for stopping by!
