"The thrill of victory, and agony of defeat...."

6:56 am - Saturday - October 11th - Gardnerville, NV - 47° F, humidity 31%, wind 9 mph out of the south.....partly cloudy this morning, clearing later with a forecast high of 60° F.  On this date in 2015 TLE and I were in Wenatchee, WA.....

....having lunch at Wenatchee Brewing Company.

As I alluded to in yesterday's missive we made a 'game time' decision not to drive to Bishop on Friday as we had originally planned.  There are three kinds of days we do not travel in the Newell.....rain days, snow days, and windy days.  There have been times when we have broken this rule.....well, it's more of a guideline.....and in those instances we drove into windy, or rainy/snowy conditions and continued to travel, nonetheless.  It was windy all Thursday night long....very, very windy with winds in the high 20's, and when we awoke the winds were still blowing.  In checking the forecast it was apparent it was going to be windy along our entire route Friday, so we 'sheltered in place', deciding to leave Saturday morning instead.  As I type Saturday morning, the winds have abated, and we will be on the road in about an hour.

We did a little shopping around mid morning, and were back before noon time.  I pulled out one of our 'gray water' hoses and drained our gray tank into the nearby flower bed, so we'll have any empty gray tank when we travel Saturday.  Beyond that I was indoors most of the day, as it was just to windy to do anything productive outdoors.

We watched the 5th and deciding game between the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners, which began at 5 pm, and did not end until almost 10 pm.  The game was tied 2-2 at the end of 9 innings, and it was not until the bottom of the 15th inning that Seattle finally scored the winning run to end the marathon.  The pitching was spectacular, as one might imagine, and it was a shame anyone had to lose.  As the famous motto for Wide World of Sports (ABC) goes...."The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat".

Thanks for stopping by!
