More time with family....

 6:41 am - Monday - October 20th - Fontana/Rialto Elks Lodge - 56° F, humidity 30%, wind 2 mph out of the north by northeast......crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 87° F.  On this date in 2017 TLE and I were visiting Bryce Canyon NP.....

.....one of our 'bucket list' places to visit.  We were on our way to work the winter at Grand Canyon NP.  We spent 3 days hiking many trails, and had a wonderful time.  It exceeded our expectations.

We hadn't seen my oldest son, Chris, and his wife, Rochelle, since we arrived in SoCal, so we made arrangements to have lunch at their home in Rancho Cucamonga around 11 am, and watch a little of the Raider vs. Chiefs NFL game.  The game was a bust.....Raiders lost 31-0, and had only 67 yards of total offense.  The visit, however, was delightful.  I had time to have thorough conversations with Chris, Rochelle, their son Chris, Chris' long time girlfriend, Zoey, their daughter Cynthia, and Daniel, Cynthia's husband....

.....we spent about 3 hours with them until it was time to head home.  

Our oldest daughter Meredith is living in Hawaii for a year doing work for her employer (tough duty, right?), and our youngest son, Tim, moved to Georgia a few years ago with his family, but we'll be able to see him next month when he is in town for a wedding.  We will be able to see Meredith over Christmas when she returns for a couple of weeks over the holidays.  We've been blessed for years to have all our children living in SoCal, but things change, and you roll with the punches.
