8:43 am - Sunday - March 14th - Seal Rock, OR - 50° F, 62% humidity, wind 9 mph out of the south by southeast.....it is raining as I write, and should rain all day Sunday.....work seems unlikely, but we shall see. For the first time in many, many years I was not aware that Daylight Savings was today......doh! The view this morning......↴
The clock is wrong......Daylight Savings strikes again.....lost
an hour overnight, and didn't even know it.....lol!
.....on this date in 2012 we had just disembarked the Galveston Free Ferry on the Bolivar Peninsula (Texas) on our way to Louisiana.......↴
Real Saturday was just plain hard work, and not much to see for all of that work, but it was necessary work as we settle back into Seal Rock life for the next 6 months. I began by washing almost 3 weeks of grime from our 1UP-USA bike rack, and then stowing it back inside the trailer. The bike rack is made entirely of aluminum, and aluminum does not fair well in the salt laden air of the Oregon Coast.
Next up was removing all of my now defunct yard lights. When we left, just over a month ago, all our lights were still working, but upon our return only the rope lights are still functioning. I have ordered replacement mini-lights to replace those now deceased, and will install them over the next couple of weeks to restore our nighttime environment. Just to be sure they were totally dead I installed new fuses in each strand of lights, and confirmed that they were, indeed, beyond repair.
Next up I began to remove all of the items from our through bay which normally are kept in our trailer, and all the items from the trailer, which are normally kept in the through bay. That included those three heavy bags of tools.
I also spent some time working on the patio area where the artificial turf was drooping down over the front edge by moving a few of the wood disks around. After about an hour of effort I managed to get it looking correct, but neglected to take a picture of the finished product. I would do it now, but it's raining, and cold out there.....lol.
By the time 2 pm rolled around I was tired, and ready for a shower. I had planned to go shopping with TLE, but the hot shower sounded more inviting at the time, so I sent her on her way, solo. She really does like shopping by herself, and I know she enjoyed, somewhat, being free of my presence to wander up and down the aisles of the store without any time constraints, just as I do when I am in Home Depot, or Ace Hardware.....by myself, of course.
I had planned to remove, and relocate the rope lights wrapped around the two large trees in our old site, but just did not have the energy, so I deferred that task until another day....when it is not raining, and I am not tired....man, building that new 'lido deck' Friday really took it out of me!
