At last by Etta James
A project I have waiting to finish for over a month now is our new 'lido deck'. We purposely chose to arrive back home on the 11th as that was the beginning of 3 straight days without rain....the perfect to to finish our 'lido deck' project....AT LAST. Friday was to be the best of those three days, so as soon I was finished with breakfast I got dressed in my work clothes and began to prepare the site for gravel. As you will recall I retrieved a bunch of wood disks from the wood pile, and laid out the patio to fit the shape of our artificial turf.........
....I had to remove the rope fence that terminated right in the middle of the patio, and transplant one escallonia bush before I could start hauling gravel to the site. Our loader has not been run in over a month, and was hard to start, but start it I did. After about 3 hours of moving gravel to the site I was dumping the final load.........
Bringing the final bucket load of gravel up the hill
Dumping the final load
....once the final load of gravel was dumped, and raked level it was time to move our artificial turf from site #A-3 to #A-2........
.....okay, it almost fit perfectly.....I'll have to do a little modification, but that won't be difficult. Overall I think I did a pretty good job of free handing the layout, and now we have a 'lido deck' once again. In all I spent around 5 hours beginning to end preparing the site for gravel, and then hauling the gravel. After I dumped each of about 12 loads of gravel TLE raked the gravel into position to create the mostly level pad.......
.....just before sunset I moved the red rope lights over to the new 'lido deck, and then walked down the hill a little way to catch another great Seal Rock sunset......
....it is, indeed, good to be home! Thanks for stopping by!
