Happy Birthday TLE!

7:34 am - Thursday - September 9th - Seal Rock, OR - 54° F, 100% humidity, wind 3 mph out of the southwest......heavily overcast, drizzling.....forecast high for today is 61° F.  On this date in 2013 we were celebrating the 15th anniversary of TLE's 49th birthday....here she is ,somewhere in the Spokane Valley, driving her 2002 Thunderbird on her birthday.....↴

.....so, today, of course, we are celebrating the 23rd anniversary of TLE's 49th birthday.....happy birthday to The Lovely Elaine!

Wednesday I returned to spreading gravel in sites to make them more level, and more inviting.  I began my efforts with site 25 pictured below......

....then moved over to site 9 to finish what I began there last week.....this is a long pull through site (one of just 3 in the park).......

.....and then back to site 23 which I also worked worked upon last week to finish it up....you will recall I was close to finishing this site when the expected customer arrived last Thursday for the long weekend......

....amazingly I have just a few more sites to complete before the end of our tenure here at SRRVC (sites 24, 18, 19 and 10).  Terry has ordered a new load of gravel to be delivered this Thursday so I can complete those sites over the next three weeks as they become available.

I was home just before 1 pm to receive the shipment of the electric trailer brakes for the trailer via UPS....I know what I'll be doing this weekend, and in subsequent days a few other things on the 'to do' list which include, but are not limited to: 1) Install new trailer brakes, 2) Clean the rust off remaining three tire rims on the trailer, 3) pour 2 gallons of Delo 100 40 wt. motor oil into the Detroit Diesel 6v92 oil reservoir (holds 3 gallons), 4) install new rotors, and disc pads on the rear of the VW, 5) pull the tire covers off the Newell wheels, and the protective shrink wrap I covered them with 6 months ago to protect them from the salt air.....hope it worked, 6) run the big Kohler/Perkins propane generator for a while, 7) reinstall the bike rack on the VW, 8) move the dorm fridge out of the trailer, 9) remove the portable fireplace from the trailer, and finally 10) put everything away in the trailer to prepare for VW insertion October 1st, or 2nd.

It was sunny most of the day, but by 4 pm the fog oozed back over the land obscuring the setting sun.
