5:35 am - Monday - September 8th - LPG&RVR - 49° F, humidity 21%, wind 4 mph out of the southeast......clear, blue skies today with a forecast high of 78° F. On this date in 2014 TLE and I were walking along the South Beach bluffs at Cape Blanco Lighthouse.....
.....Cape Blanco Lighthouse definitely had the 'IT' factor!
TLE and I started our second work day of this current four day work week expecting a light day golf wise, but it is always nice to be surprised. I staged 10 carts initially, thinking that would be more than enough based on the Tee Times sheet, but we ended up having a lot of 'walk in' customers, ultimately renting out 23 golf carts. I'm going to have about 9-10 of them to wash first thing Monday morning.
I wanted to do a little mowing in areas of the park which are far from the RV sites (the residential lawns up the hill, and the 'Night Office' at the entrance to the park), but I couldn't until mid morning as the grass was too wet from the overnight dew, so I spent time out on the driving range picking golf balls out of the forest on either side of the range. Dave had done this last week, but I thought there were more balls out there, and I was able to garner around 3/4 of a five gallon bucket. Now I'm sure there are no more balls out there. I'll need to put on my rubber boots Monday and get the ones out of the creek which bisects the driving range. I haven't done that since June, so there will be a lot in there.
Once that was done, and the balls were soaking I hopped on the Husqvarna 2 bag mower and headed up to the residential lawns, then down to the 'Night Office' lawn. By the time I finished it was time for TLE's lunch break.
After lunch I spent the entire time washing and stowing golf carts until it was time to head home where I was able to watch the finish of the Rams vs. Texans (NFL) game won by the Rams 14-9. My Broncos also managed to win out over the Titans 20-12, and the Raiders topped the Patriots 20-13. I think that's the first opening day game the Raiders have won in some time. I went to flip the sign, and pick up TLE a little after 5 pm, and we were finally at 'hump night' in our four day work schedule. The final two days always go fast, and I've got a lot of mowing to do Monday and Tuesday, which will really make it go fast.
Thanks for stopping by!
