Phones and food.....

7:08 am - Friday - September 12th - Klamath Falls, OR - 46° F, humidity 66%, wind 4 mph out of the west by northwest.....clear blue skies today with a forecast high of 74° F.  On this date in 2017 TLE and I were in Jackson Hole, WY.....

....here I am standing near the iconic elk antler arch.  You can just see TLE over my right shoulder.

TLE and I were not out of bed until after 7 am Thursday.  The king size bed in our room is so comfortable, as is the one in our home (Newell), it is just way larger than the one at home.  We slept in a California King for decades, but had to get used to sleeping in a queen size bed since 2011 when we moved into our Newell permanently.  We walked over to our favorite local coffee shop, Brevada......

......around 10 am to enjoy two Americanos (espresso + hot water).  It rained on and off most of the day, and it was sprinkling on us during our walk over and back.  Not a heavy rain, but the kind in which you can walk without getting soaked.

Around 11 am we drove over to the local Verizon store to update TLE's current generation 12 iPhone to a generation 16 (17 has just been released).  He current phone's battery was down under 80% efficiency, which mean when it was showing 100% charged, it was really only at 79%.  Upgrading to a new phone is never a fast process, as you all know, but by 12:30 pm she had the new phone with all of its attendant accessories, and TLE was very happy.

We spent the rest of the day relaxing in our room until around 4:30 pm when we got dressed to go out for our anniversary/birthday celebration dinner at Basin Martini Bar, where we celebrated last year.  They open at 4 pm, and we arrived, without reservations, just after 5 pm, being seated within seconds.....

....to begin the evening we both ordered one of their specialty drinks, of which there are many.  I cannot remember the name of my drink, but it had tequila, triple sec, and puréed blood orange.  I would say it is a variation on the traditional Margarita, and it was very, very good!  TLE had the equivalent of a Moscow Mule.

For our appetizer we had Prosciutto wrapped, cream stuffed Jalapeno poppers....OMG.....

......TLE had their Honey Crusted Salmon, and I their St. Louis style spare ribs.  And that is where the magic ended, entree wise.  I had the salmon last year, and TLE loved hers, but the ribs were not what I was expecting.  The plate was way too small for the amount of food provided....

.....I'm used to ribs where the meat just falls off the bones, but I had to cut, with difficulty, the meat off the ribs.  On top of that the flavors were just average.  The macaroni salad provided was way to large, and seemed to clash with the seasoning of the ribs, but the corn on the cobb was delicious.  Things did end well, however.  For desert I ordered their cheese cake with a caramel sauce, chased with an espresso martini.....

....it has been pretty rare that I've been disappointed in an entree, but you can't bat 1000% all the time, right?

We were home by 6:30 pm relaxing, and watching the news regarding the manhunt for the political assassin who murdered Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University near Orem, UT.  As it turns out he was finally found, and taken into custody sometime last night.  I believe he was turned in by his father.

Thanks for stopping by!
