The road home.....

7:48 am - Saturday - September 13th - LPG&RVR - 51° F, humidity 39%, wind 1 mph out of the southeast....crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 80° F.  On this date in 2018 TLE and I were watching the sunrise from the top of Cadillac Mountain near Bar Harbor, ME....

....the sun rose, on this day, around 6:10 am, but we had to arrive there before 5:30 am to even get a parking spot.  We did get a parking spot, and it was the last legal one.  Totally worth it, though.  I wrote about this here.

After two days in rainy, drizzly Klamath Falls it was time to make the return drive to LPG&RVR, but not before a shopping foray at Fred Meyers (Kroger).  We were packed, and out the door by 9 am, and in Fred Myers doing our shopping by 9:15 am.  We always do our shopping first in order to get the gasoline discount (in this case it ended up being 20¢).  While TLE began pushing the small grocery cart up and down the aisle I headed over to the in store Starbucks to get us two cups of 'real' coffee. Let's face it, hotels don't serve 'real' coffee, do they?  It has the appearance of 'real' coffee, but lacks the aroma, and taste of 'real' coffee.

TLE follows a certain pattern when shopping, so it was easy to find her, and deliver her 'tall' Starbucks cup of coffee...I always get the 'grande'.  We were done shopping by 10 am, and on our way over to the fuel station shortly thereafter where we claimed the aforementioned 20¢ per gallon discount on premium unleaded.

The drive home was beautiful, and uneventful.  We decided to detour to Cedarville (on the other side of the Warner Mountains) to visit with our friend Kathy Parkening, who ran the  restaurant here at LPG&RVR for 10 years before retiring at the end of last summer.  We had a lovely visit for about an hour before continuing our drive back to LPG&RVR where we arrived without incident around 2:45 pm.  We did make a quick stop at the Likely Post Office to pickup mail, and saw that they were flying their U.S. Flag at half mast in honor of Charlie Kirk....

.....once we arrived home it took us at least another hour to put away our purchases from Walmart and Fred Meyers before we could sit down and just relax.  We had a very nice two days in Klamath Falls, but are happy we have one day more to relax before beginning our next four day work week.

Thanks for stopping by!
