6:58 am - Wednesday - September 3rd - LPG&RVR - 59° F, humidity 38%, wind 3 mph out of the south by southeast.....cloudy today with a forecast high of 86° F. On this date in 2015 TLE and I were getting ready to watch the sun set at Cape Blanco....
....a little vino never hurts, and the sunset was gorgeous! This area was called the 'telephone booth' as it was the only place you could get a cell signal on the property.
I think it was already over 60° F when we got up Tuesday morning, and that almost always means it will be a warm day, and it was. I had turned on the irrigation water for the 10 back in sites, and 10 tent sites just before Noon on Monday (intentionally, as I didn't want to have to get up at 5 am Tuesday morning to turn it off) so when I drove down to check on the progress of the water at 7 am it was only just getting into tent site #6, so there were still 5 tent sites to get flooded before I could turn off the water. I drove down 4 more times before I was able to finally turn off the water around 2:30 pm.
I puttered around in the trailer for a while, and then sat in my anti gravity chair on the 'lido deck' reading for a couple of hours before the rising heat chased me inside for the balance of the day around noon time. If there had even been the slightest breeze I probably could have remained outside indefinitely, but there wasn't so I didn't. The forecast was for a high of 93° F Tuesday, and I think it got there late in the afternoon, but by a tad after 7 pm we had turned off the A/C and opened the windows.
Tuesday was typical for the first day of our four day weekend. TLE put a couple loads of wash through the Splendid Splendide, and took care of a few small repairs, took a couple of naps, just generally relaxing. The park is as empty as I've seen it for a few weeks, and so QUIET right now. It rained, again, on and off last night, and we awakened this morning (Wednesday) to rain on our riveted aircraft aluminum roof, and it is threatening to rain again. I've got an appointment at Kaleidescope Salon to get my final haircut of the summer from Sheila at 9 am this morning, so we'll need to be in the VW by 8:30 am.
The weather trend is for steady cooling over the next two weeks into the 70's, and a day, or two in the 60's. I believe we have seen the last of 90+ degree days this summer, but I said that once before, and was proven wrong. In another 10 days we'll begin to put some of our stuff away in preparation for out planned departure around October 5th, or 6th. In about 6 days TLE will be celebrating another birthday, and in exactly a month I will celebrate the completion of my 76th trip around the sun.
Thanks for stopping by!
