We were up by 6 am, and walking over to the office around 7:50 am to begin our first work day. Already the campers who had arrived after hours were waiting to enter and complete their registration.....okay, nothing like instant pressure....:D
As it turned out the problems were few, and the training kicked in pretty quickly. There were a few lulls in the traffic here in there, but pretty much we were busy for our entire shift. We started out expecting to check in up to 160 campers, and by the end of our shift at 4:30 pm we had checked in close to 90 of them......that left the balance for the late shift folks who started at 11:30 am.
Our daughters and their significant others arrived around 12:40........I was in the middle of checking someone in when I looked up and saw Kate and Sharon standing there in the doorway.....YAY!!! TLE was just getting ready to take her lunch break so after we exchanged hugs and kisses she shepherded them over to our campsite so they could set up their tent.
Our first campfire with the "kids"...left to right: Kate, Nick, Rod, Sharon
So, our first work day is in the books, and it went much better than I expected, and based on TLE's report it went very well for her. We'll work again Friday, then Sunday and we'll be off again until next Friday. On Saturday we'll head over to Tahoe City to do some rafting on the Truckee River with the kids.....life is good!
Thanks for stopping by!
