A couple of weeks ago I wrote about vacuuming and cleaning the interiors of our two pump houses. I'm pretty sure it had not been done for a year, or more....I know it hadn't been done since April 25th when we arrived. Well, Monday morning Rich told me the water quality guy had been by to test our water and made a point of telling Rich how much he appreciated what we had done. It's always nice when someone notices, right?
On Monday I attempted to remove the grease spots on the concrete patio behind the Red Barn near the BBQ's using something called "2 In 1".......something our housekeeper uses cleaning the restrooms and cabins. It's a sanitizer, degreaser, cleaner. I would spray it on the grease, let it sit for a few minutes, then wash it away using our pressure washer.....no dice.....grease still there, but slightly faded. Here is what the concrete looked like after Monday's efforts.......
......enter Zep Commercial Driveway, Concrete & Masonry Cleaner.........a concentrate. You add 12 ounces of this concentrate to 1 gallon of hot water, then using a scrub brush you apply it.......
......after scrubbing, and then pressure washing the residue away the result is remarkable.....
.....no more grease spots. To be fair I think the Zep slightly lightened the color of the concrete, but not significantly. The main thing is the grease spots are gone!
I spent the rest of the day doing the pool, horseshoe pits, and mini golf, and then finished by blowing leaves, gravel and debris off Oak Street from Maple all the way up to the Storage Lot. For good measure I checked on the two pump houses and vacuumed a little more. A little mouse poop, but not bad. The mouse bate traps I deployed had seen some use so, hopefully, the mouse population is being somewhat reduced.
For the first time in a couple of months TLE and I rode to work together, and rode home. I worked 9-4, and delighted in the wonderful autumn like weather all day. We sat outside from 4 pm until almost 7:30 pm reading, and listening to 'Classic Vinyl' on XM Radio....great play list last night!
