Friday, or Monday?

6:24 am - Saturday - May 7th - Likely, CA - 38° F, humidity 72%, wind 7  mph out of the west by southwest......partly cloudy with rain on the way today and a forecast high of 50° F.  On this date in 2017 TLE and I were in South Lake Tahoe where it was snowing.....↴

After a few days of spring like weather here in Likely, CA winter is once again trying to claw its way back into Northern California.....

.....it seems rain and/or snow are always just over the horizon.  Friday started off nice enough, but by early afternoon the winds had returned with a fury blowing directly out of the west, which is directly into the rear of the Newell.  We had a flurry of early golfers trying to beat the forecast winds, and most of them did.  As a result the 12 golf carts we rented were back by 1 pm enabling me to get them cleaned and put away earlier than normal.

I was my turn Friday to hit the golf course to clean the goose poop off the 3rd hole tee boxes, and then rake the four sand traps (4,12,15 and 18). I was finishing the sand trap on 18 when TLE called me on the radio to say she needed more golf carts ASAP.  The 18th hole is only about an 1/8th of a mile from the Club House so I was there in a couple of minutes pulling out more golf carts.

When the winds arrived in the afternoon I picked up the John Deere riding lawnmower and headed out to the fairway on hole number 10 to cut some grass that DeWayne could not get to with the very big, 7 reel Jacobsen fairway mower.  There are a number of spots around the course which need the attention of the very small John Deere, and when I'm on duty, and it needs to be done, I will be takings a care of those areas.  That mower only runs about  3-4 mph at full throttle, so it takes a while to get anywhere....unfortunately for me I neglected to check the gas level in the fuel tank when I headed out to the 10th fairway, and ran out of gas half way to the 10th hole, meaning I had to walk all the way back to the Caddie Shack to get a gas can to fill, and take back to the John Deere.  At any rate, after that brief gas retrieval episode, I finished taking care of the 10th fairway by 4:30 pm, and by the time I topped off the gas tank on the John Deere, and put it away it was going on 5 pm.  TLE and I were home by 5:10 pm escaping into the interior of the Newell from the raging winds outside.

That was our Friday, even though it felt more like Monday to me...lol...thanks for stopping by!
