The keys....

6:24 am - Sunday - May 15th - Likely, CA - 40° F, humidity 74%, wind 3 mph out of the southeast.....crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 78° F.  On this date in 2020 TLE and I were hiking at Natural Bridges NP.....↴

With a forecast high in the 70's, sunny skies, and no wind Saturday had the potential of being a big day on the golf course, and it was.  Fifty-four rounds of golf were played, 20 golf carts were rented (many bring their own carts), and the Café was very busy, which kept me busy in the morning staging them, and late afternoon when they all began to return.  Additionally, one of the Club Car gas carts broke down, so we had to take the folks a replacement, and tow the bad cart back to the Club House.  I also drove the small John Deere riding lawnmower out to tee boxes for hole #3 to mow around them.  The round trip drive to get out to #3, and back takes about 40 minutes....I'm not kidding....that baby is slow....lol!

We had over 40 people sign up for the putting contest (held at 4 pm each Saturday), which is a new high for this season.  I putted, but I was in the middle of cleaning 10 golf carts when my name was called, so I didn't do well, losing in the first round.  If I had done well I would have been washing golf carts until 6 pm, and I did not want that.  Next Saturday I do not work, so I will have time to practice, and won't be tired from working all day.

In between all of that I lost track of my ring of keys, which I use constantly during the day, and spent time looking for them, while still doing my job.  That ring of keys has master keys to the Club Cars, and Yamahas, keys to many doors throughout the property, as well as personal keys, so losing it was not an option.  Finally, after pretty much resigning myself to having lost them, I found them.....in the ignition of the last golf cart I had staged.  Just as I was staging that cart I got a two way radio call from TLE advising the aforementioned golf cart had died out at hole #3, so I apparently got out of the cart without the keys, and went about driving the replacement out to hole #3....doh!  That was the last place I would have thought to look, because I thought I still had them with me when I went to get the replacement cart, however, TLE had given me the key for that replacement cart, so I never noticed I didn't have my keys until I got back.  I thought I had lost them out on the golf course somewhere....whew!

In all Saturday was a banner day for Likely Place RV & Golf Resort, but by 5 pm TLE and I were beat.  As we drove home I suggested we sit outside in the Adirondack chairs with some adult beverages, listen to some Frank Sinatra, and just unwind from the day, and that is what we did until almost 7 pm. It's the first nice evening we've had in quite some time.....weather wise, of course.  About 6 pm I turned on our portable propane fire place for a little added warmth, as the heat of the day was quickly deserting the local atmosphere.
