Like clockwork......

8:02 am - Friday - April 9th - Seal Rock, OR - 32° F, 100% humidity, wind - zero mph out of the north......mostly clear skies today with a forecast high of 48° F.  On this date in 2014 we were visiting the iconic Horseshoe Bend near Page, AZ.......↴

I am still behind in my blog posts.....this morning I'll catch you up on Wednesday and my return to Seal Rock, OR from Ontario, CA.

My Alaska Airlines flight back to Portland, OR was scheduled to depart at 10:15 am.  I was up by 6:30 am, and on my way to return my rental car by 7:45 am, arriving there at exactly 8 am.  Some days just go like clockwork, and Wednesday was one of those days.  I was delivered via the rental car shuttle service to the Alaska Airlines terminal around 8:15 am, and through security within 10 minutes....I was actually the only person going through security at that time.....

Everything going smoothly

......my departure gate was 206, which I found quickly, and then settled in to wait for the boarding call, which came around 9:30 am.....the flight departed on time, and a short two hours later we landed safely at Portland International.  As I exited the arrival terminal I called AirPark to have them send a shuttle bus for me, and they arrived within 10 minutes.  I was at my car loading in my suitcase a little after 1 pm, and exiting the AirPark parking lot by 1:30 pm.....in 2.5 hours I would be home.  It was then I began to relax for the first time in a couple of days....all I had left to do was drive 154 miles, park the car, and hug The Lovely Elaine.  No more schedules, appointments, planes to catch.....just drive home.  I arrived home just after 4 pm having stopped in Lebanon, OR to top off the VW fuel tank.  Traffic was perfect, and every time I got behind a truck on US-20 a passing lane arrived in the nick of time.

Amazingly, at least to me, the entire trip went off without a single hitch.  I kept my suitcase with me on each flight, so no risk of lost baggage.  Considering how tight my schedule was, and the lack of any margin for error it all went swimmingly.
