8:34 am - Friday - April 16th - Seal Rock, OR - 54° F, 63% humidity, wind - zero mph out of the north.....clear, blue skies today with a forecast high of 74° F....wait, what? Yes you read correctly.....74° F....for real....it is going to be a great Friday!
On this date in 2015 we were boondocking at Goosenecks State Park with good friends Steven and Linda Dempsey.....has it really been 6 years?.....↴
Just like the other day, Thursday had this 'warm' feel to it as I walked to work.....
.....I'm not even sure why I was wearing a jacket, because I had it off within minutes....
.....just as I have most every day this week, I returned to hauling and spreading gravel with the Massey-Ferguson loader, this time in site #21, which has a nice ocean view. I added about 3 feet to the width of this site so customers can park closer to the pedestal, water and sewer connections.......
The smaller rock is on the left in the pictures, and larger rock on the right, and in the foreground. When I am done the entire site will be covered with a layer of small rock.
....once I added the width using the larger rock of which we have an abundance, and I then began to haul what was left of the smaller rock to the site to cover all the larger rock in the site. I didn't have enough to finish the site, but we will get another delivery of gravel on Tuesday, and will get back to it then. The work I did in site #21 took the entirety of my two hour shift. After driving the Massey-Ferguson back up the hill to the barn for the weekend I headed for A-2, which is about half way between the barn and office.
About a week ago I ordered a new recliner off eBay to replace my existing, aging recliner, which I have had for about 6 years. It was beginning to show signs of wear, and the seat cushion was not quite as plush as it once was. Ironically, it was being shipped via FedEx, with whom I have had numerous bad experiences in the past 13 months, but on this day they delivered my new chair on time, as promised. After removing it from its box TLE and I carried in to the Newell and placed it in the space vacated by my old recliner......
.....this new recliner is soooo much more plush than the old one, and I have a difficult time extricating myself from it......
In repose....
....next up I installed two more strand of rope lights on two more trees next to our old site.....one strand is red, and the other is blue......
....like the rope lights which border the 'lido deck', these rope lights have several color options which can be accessed using a small remote control.
As is often the case on clear evenings we were the beneficiaries of another beautiful, cloudless sunset....I just love that moment when the setting sun kisses the ocean....it is just magical.....
