Sometimes you do get what you want.....sometimes.....

7:32 am - Wednesday - April 14th - Seal Rock, OR - 37° F, 70% humidity, wind - zero mph out of the north.....crystal, clear, blue skies today with a forecast high of 62° F.  On this date ten years ago (2011) we were camped at Serrano Campground near Big Bear, CA.......↴

'You can't always get what you want'....Rolling Stones

Did I wish it into existence?  Do I have that strong a will?  Well, probably not, but after writing about how I longed for a day I could sit on the 'lido deck' in one of our new Adirondack chairs and enjoy the view and weather that is exactly what we got.  You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you get what you need.  Tuesday was one of the best weather days in months.  The air had a balmy quality to it as I walked to work just before 10 am, and there was NO wind.  Everything was dry (humidity was at 57%), and by 10:20 am I had taken off my jacket....I wore it the entire shift Monday.  After cleaning the filters at the WDS plant with Blake, he headed to the tent area to paint picnic tables, and I to the Massey-Ferguson loader parked in front of the office to spread some more gravel in sites 11, 16, and 41.  The tractor started easily on the first attempt this day, and we were 'off to the races' for over three hours as I hauled bucket after bucket of gravel to the aforementioned sites.  After every two loads I would get off the tractor and rake out the gravel I had dumped.  After 3+ hours of doing this I parked the tractor, and headed for home with TLE who was also getting off work at 1 pm (she had the 11-1pm shift).

Shortly after getting home we headed into Waldport to make a Ray's Food Place run, as our pantry and fridge were getting bare.  On Tuesday's we get a senior citizens discount, which amounts to around 10%.  We were home before 3 pm, and within minutes I had the patio awning deployed for the first time in a couple of weeks.  The afternoon winds never materialized, and by 6:30 pm I had started a sunset fire......

....you bet I'm happy!  No rain, no wind....nice....

....we bought some new, green pool noodles for the lower arms of the patio awning (so we don't bang our heads).....

....had to move out to Cross Street to catch the sunset as the sun is now setting behind the trees across the street

....yup, still very happy!  The setting sun was so
bright I had to wear sunglasses!

.....the sun sets around 8 pm now, and it was a lovely 90 minutes watching the sun slowly slide toward the watery horizon.  By the way, we love our 'new' green tables!  Can't wait until I can get the Adirondacks painted!
