'You beat me to the punch.....'

8:25 pm - Sunday - August 4th - Ramona, CA - 73° F, 62% humidity, wind 5 mph out of the west.  Dark....the high today was 96° F.

Sunday began with breakfast outdoors.   We used our Coleman propane single burner to cook the bacon, and then the scrambled eggs.  I actually cooked everything except the toast.......

.....we finished breakfast a little before 10 am, and by then it was getting hot, so we headed indoors, turned on the A/C and spent the day reading until about 3 pm when we got dressed and drove up to Wynola (just outside of Julian) to have a late lunch at Wynola Pizza and Bistro.  Rich and Marnie had eaten there before and had nothing but good things to say about it, and a quick check of Yelp showed a 4 star rating on 335 reviews.......

......and even though we would have loved to eaten alfresco, we opted to eat inside due to the heat.  Even though we were close to 4,000' elevation it was still hot!  As you can see from the photo below, most people felt as we did.......

.....to chase the pizza I ordered a Ballast Point Sculpin, and TLE an English Ale (nut brown)....both were perfect additions to our late lunch.....

......all their pizzas are the same size.....what I would call a medium.  We ordered their 'Joe's Godfatther' adding anchovies to their pizza sauce, pepperoni, salami, sausage, fresh basil, fresh garlic, mozzarella cheese, smoked provolone cheese, and thyme mix.  They cook a New York style pizza with a very thin crust.....delicious......

.....we had a lovely time, and will go back again when it is much cooler, and we can sit outside enjoying the music they provide in the bar area.

On our way home I stopped to take a picture at the top of the descent back to Santa Ysabel.....

.....you can just see it in the distance.  We were back to RORVR just before 5 pm where it was still hot. We didn't turn off the A/C until after 7:30 pm.

I'll leave you with another great R&B song by Mary Wells......
