BLT, or BLAT?

8:40 am - Saturday - June 19th - Seal Rock, OR - 54° F, 82% humidity, wind 11 mph out of the north......that cold, blustery north wind.  Clear, blue skies today with a forecast high of 61° F.  On this date in 2015 TLE and I hiked to the top of Mt. Tallac (9,735' elevation) with Richard and Rhonda Entrekin (Newell friends).....11 miles round trip, and 3,520' of elevation gain......that is Lake Tahoe in the distance.....↴

What to do on a cold, blustery day?  Well, the U.S. Open (USGA) is on this weekend, so that is what we did.  I don't think either of us ventured outdoors until mid afternoon.  Instead of breakfast TLE promised me BLT's at 11 am if I could wait....who cannot wait for a BLT?  TLE's BLT's are restaurant quality.  There are only two other BLT's I have had in my entire life which top TLE's.....there was a restaurant in Glendora, CA many years ago (80's) called the Golden Spur which for many years had my number one spot, but then I had the ONE POUND of bacon BLT at Sonney's BBQ Shack and Grill in South Lake Tahoe 5, or 6 years ago, and it immediately displaced the Golden Spur one.  Now, one thing TLE adds to her BLT's is avocado technically making it a BLAT, and in the world of BLAT's hers is, by and far, the best......

The Sonney's BBQ ONE POUND of bacon BLT

....fortunately, when the north wind blows here it is hitting us directly in the back of the trailer, so unless we are outside we really don't notice it, other than the moaning sound it makes as it funnels around the coach.  The north wind here is always cold, and can go on for days at a time, just like it is right now....if we must have wind I would wish it to come from the east....that is almost always a warm, pleasant breeze.

The telecast of the U.S. Open ended around 7:30 pm....yup, wall to wall coverage.  At the 36 hole mark the leaders are two unknown (to me) players, but there are a lot of top players within 5 strokes, so who knows what will happen over the final two days.

Once again the north wind gifted us a beautiful Oregon Coast sunset....

....thanks for stopping by!
