7:45 am - Thursday - June 10th - Seal Rock, OR - 48° F, 94% humidity, wind - zero mph out of the north.....mostly sunny today with a forecast high of 58° F.....rained hard overnight, but the sun is out this morning! On this date in 2013 we had just arrived near LaCrosse, WI.......↴
It begins to get light around 5 am now, and by 7 am, when we usually get up each day, the sun is shinning in the passenger side window of the bedroom. When I open my eyes and see the gold glow coming through the curtain I know it is going to be a beautiful Coastal Oregon day, and that was the case Wednesday.
I began my work day up at the large house owned by the owners of SRRVC finishing the work Fred and I began on Monday. Terry figured it would take around an hour and a half, but it took around 2.25 hours. There is a lot of grass to mow, and then rake......
This grand house is over 100 years old
It was a beautiful day to be working on the hill above SRRVC
....by the time I finished I had hauled two trailer loads of vegetation cuttings to the burn pile, but the yard is now ready for the owners imminent arrival. I did get some Massey-Ferguson time in, however. Our neighbor, Monte, had asked Terry if we could use the loader to remove a large bush by his garage, and Terry had agreed to have me do it. I ended up having to use the backhoe to dig out the bush, and that was a learning experience, but I got it done with no damage to the garage, or small animals. By the time I put the tractor away it was closing in on 1:30 pm.
I spent most of the afternoon cleaning, and lubricating a couple of fans we use inside the coach to move air around the front and rear when it is humid to keep condensation from forming on the windows. They worked quite well this winter, but now that the humidity is lower, and rainy season is over it's time to service them.
TLE was home a little after 4 pm from her split shift Wednesday to report it had been quite a busy day in the office. As the afternoon wore on we could both tell we might be treated to another beautiful sunset, and we were not wrong.....
....these sunsets go a long way to erasing the memories of all those windy, rainy days that seem to be fading slowly into the rear view mirror here on the Oregon Coast.
