Rockin' around the clock....

7:27 am - Wednesday - June 16th - Seal Rock, OR - 48° F, 100% humidity, wind 10 mph out of the east by northeast.....clear, blue skies this day with a forecast high of 64° F.  On this date in 2012 TLE and I were riding our tadpole recumbent trikes on the Fish Lake Bike Path near Spokane, WA.......↴

I like Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays because I get to work by myself.  Terry tells me what he wants done on a particular day, and I execute the plan, at my own pace.  Terry still can't work due to his injured shoulder, and he will be having surgery soon to repair it, meaning he will be out of action for at least 2-3 more months after the surgery.  Meanwhile Fred and I share one work day a week together, Monday, but I'm on my own the other 3 days.

On Tuesday my first assignment was to check the TV cable at site #24.  The customer was reporting a snowy picture, and for the second consecutive time it was our issue, not the customer's.  The coupling, or connector at the site had gone bad, so it was a simple fix.  After that, at another customer's request, I mowed and edged his site (#23).  We're a little behind on mowing right now due to Terry's injury.  While I was at it I took care of three other sites (7, 36, and 37) which were unoccupied, and beginning to look a little overgrown.  I also emptied the trash can in the dog run area (it was full, heavy, and stinky), and then used the Stihl string trimmer to knock down the grass there, too.  I spent the rest of my shift mowing, and trimming many of the common areas.

TLE went to work at 12 pm, and I was home by 1:30 pm relaxing, showering, and taking a nap.  My afternoon project was to set up a new clock for our bedroom.  Our existing clock, which projects the time, and temp on the ceiling in red is about 12 years old, and beginning to fail.  We both like the projection aspect of the old clock, and wanted to get something like it to replace it.  TLE found one on Amazon that seemed to fit the bill, so she ordered it a few days ago.  It arrived at the office while I was working.  Anyway, I set about reading the instructions for setting it up, and the more I read the more complex this thing seemed.  At any rate, after about 2 hours I finally had everything set up, and synced....just about the time TLE arrived home from work.  Why are electronic gadgets of today so complicated?  So, here is what the projection display looks like on the ceiling of our bedroom......

....the clock alternately shows the time of day, and inside temp.......

....and then the outside temp....these readings are for this morning.  There is a separate sensor that is mounted on the window which must be synced with the clock to get the outside temp reading.....

....the hard part was getting that little thing to 'talk', or pair with the clock.  Unlike the old clock, this one gives you the options of different colors for the clock display, and the projection.  We like red as it is easier on the eyes at night....

....well, that was my exciting afternoon!  Thanks for stopping by!
