Rata-tat-tat-tat....

8:08 am - Sunday - June 13th - Seal Rock, OR - 55° F, 100% humidity, wind 7 mph out of the south by southeast.....cloudy and drizzly today with a forecast high of 60° F.  On this date in 2016 TLE and I were having breakfast at the 'Getaway Cafe' in Meyers, just west of South Lake Tahoe.......↴

We awoke to the threat of rain later in the day so TLE and I got busy taking care of a few outdoor necessities before we were rained out.  For TLE that meant transplanting the new plants into the sand pails we had purchased on Friday.  For me that meant dumping the black tank, scattering some grass seed on a few areas in sites A-2, and A-3, then spraying some weed/grass killer on weeds and grass where they did not belong.  The rain was forecast to arrive between 1 and 4 pm, and just like the telephone guy who promises to be at your home between 1 and 4 pm, arrived just after 4 pm.  Once it began to rain it did not stop....not one time...at all, and it is still raining as I compose today's (Sunday) missive.  It never rained hard, but just played this steady rata-tat-tat-tat rhythm on our aluminum roof.

There is always a week's worth of laundry to do on our off days, and Saturday was no exception.  It is so nice having the splendid Splendide.  We don't have to drive to the laundromat once a week, and kill time while our clothes get washed and dried.  TLE just puts a load in, and goes about her business.  Once we hear the 'click clack' of the door latch releasing we know the dryer has finished doing its job, and it is time for the next load.  Many people do not like them because you must do small loads, but that is a minor inconvenience when faced with sitting in a laundromat for 1-2 hours every single week wishing you were somewhere else.

I managed to get in an hour long nap, and watch a lot of golf when I was conscious Saturday afternoon.  It is so nice to see crowds once again at each golf tournament.  Just one more sign of things getting back to normal.
