6:28 am - Monday - August 12th - LPG&RVR - 54° F, humidity 56%, wind 2 mph out of the southeast......crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 86° F. On this date in 2020 TLE and I were in Leavenworth, WA, a Bavarian themed town in western Washington, eating lunch, and enjoying some brews at Icicle Brewing Company....
.....I took the above picture after we had made the turn at the 1 mile mark, and my knee was feeling better than I expected. I was able to walk normally, without stiffness, and able to extend my leg. I've been faithfully doing my PT (physical therapy) exercises every day, and I can feel a difference. We walked at a leisurely, pain free 3.1 mph, finishing in just under 40 minutes.
.....looking at the weather forecast, even though it is just one giant guess, makes me happy, nonetheless. Back in June when temps were beginning to increase into the 80's I was not happy, but dropping back into the 80's makes me very happy. The passage of time tends to bring perspective.
The temp Sunday hit 92° F, and I've had enough of that so I did not do much else Sunday. I did do my PT, and I finally, after 2 years, replaced the burnt out bulb in our porch light. Sometimes I can be such a slug....lol. I've been meaning to get a new bulb (it is an automotive bayonet type bulb) at the local Napa in Alturas, but literally every time we go to town I forget, or decide I don't want to stop for just one item, so the task has gone uncompleted for over 2 years. Finally, last Tuesday we decided we needed a new sun screen for the Beetle windshield, which meant we wouldn't just be stopping for the bulb....lol. Then I wait another whole week to actually take the necessary 5 minutes to actually install it. The porch light is in the shade, so why not.
The sun is going down around 8:04 pm now, so around 6 pm the sun is off the Sea-B-Que. Around 5:30 pm I lit the Sea-B-Que, and then grilled another of those New York Strip Steaks we bought at COSTCO so long ago, to which TLE added spinach, and roasted potatoes. We sipped a little Pino Noir, and cherished every bite of those amazing steaks.
Thanks for stopping by!
