What passes for normal.....

5:45 am - Friday - August 16th - LPG&RVR - 48° F, humidity 76%, wind 1 mph out of east by southeast.....sunny today with a forecast high of 83° F.  On this date in 2016 TLE and I were at Sidellis Lake Tahoe Brewery and Restaurant....our favorite South Lake Tahoe micro brewery.....

We've had about 5 consecutive days now without smoke laden air here at LPG&RVR, and though the numerous forest fires continue to the northwest of our location life has returned to what passes for normal.  The park is about 60% occupied again, and will be busy this weekend.  Many kids have returned to school so we should be seeing mostly older adults around the park for the next 7 weeks.  We've passed the 4 month mark in the season, and have less than 2 months to go before the 'hitch itch' becomes unbearable, and we roll our wheels in a southerly direction once again.  TLE and I will turn 75 before those wheels roll, and we will have been vagabonding for going on 13 years now.

To begin the first of four workdays this week I staged 10 golf carts.  We had a lot of walk up business Thursday, and ended up renting 20 golf carts.  Thursday was also 'clear the driving range' day, and I managed to garner one 5 gallon bucket of balls from said range.  I didn't really go into the woods bordering the range, so I imagine I might find another half bucket of balls when I do so on a day without much to do.

On my initial round of the course I raked 3 of the 4 sand traps.  The one at the 15th hole is just too wet in the morning to adequately rake, so I let it go.  With the sun rising later and later now it just does not dry out until later in the morning.  I was back at the Clubhouse a little after 9 am to find it was time to stage more carts....

Taken at the 15th hole....I love this 360° view!

....I made a marshaling round of the course around 10:30 am, then headed out to the driving range to retrieve the aforementioned balls.  It took me a little over 1/2 hour to do so, and then it was time for TLE's lunch break.

I've only got two days this week to do a lot of mowing, so I've got to get it all done on Thursday and Friday since we don't mow on the weekends.  After TLE's lunch break I jumped on the 2 bag Husqvarna and headed down to mow tent sites 4-10, then up to the small pavilion to mow, and finished with the large grass area by site #30.  That leaves the grass around the Night Registration office, the group area grass, the parking lot grass, the three large grass areas in the residential area, the tee boxes I mow each week, and as many pull through sites as I can get done on Friday.....that is a lot of mowing!

By the time I refueled the Husqvarna and stowed same it was time to begin washing golf carts.  I managed to get 16 of the 20 carts washed, and put away, plus washed the 5 gallons of balls by 3:30 pm.  The other four carts will have to wait until Friday morning.

Thanks for stopping by!
