5:44 am - Thursday - August 15th - LPG&RVR - 50° F, humidity 68%, wind 1 mph out of the east by southeast......sunny today with a forecast high of 80° F. On this date in 2020 TLE and I were courtesy parked on the property of good friends Bob and Karen near Coupeville, WA (Whidbey Island)......
We rolled out of bed a tad after 7 am Wednesday, and were beginning our 2 mile out and back walk by 7:15 am. The sun is getting lower in the sky, and tonight it will be setting before 8 pm for the first time in a few months.....
Looking north on the entry road
Looking south....love, love, love the big views here
.....again we averaged 3.1 mph, but the knee is feeling steadily better, and I walked 90% of the time without even thinking about it. Upon our return to site #55 we both made our morning coffees and sat on the 'lido deck' in our Adirondack chairs enjoying just being there at that moment in time. When we are on the 'lido deck' we feel like the only people in the park, and that is why we set up our site the way we did this year. Each of the first two summers here I kept wishing I had set up differently, but this year we have found our sweet spot. We would not change single thing.
The air quality Wednesday was above average compared to many days the past few weeks. There are still fires being fought on many fronts in Northern California, Oregon and Washington, but when the wind blows from the southeast as it has been most of the time the past few days it is quite pleasant here in the Pitt River Valley.
I had planned on playing golf Wednesday, but decided to just stay at home puttering around our site, and in the trailer. I made sure to dump our black tank before the day got too advanced. We're going around 9-10 days between dumps, which is nice. With the great water pressure here I can flush the tank pretty quickly (I do it 2-3 times depending on how clear the water looks going into the sewer connection (the elbow which connects our Rhino Flex sewer hose to the sewer connection is clear for just this purpose).
As has been the case for the past week, the winds freshened late afternoon into the low 20's for about 2 hours, then abated as is their habit. When it is so windy we are not inclined to use the dining/gaming canopy for evening activities, but we know that will change in a few weeks at most as we edge into Fall.
We finished season two of 'Silent Witness' on BritBox, and are really loving this series, which is now in its 27th season. Each episode is around 47 minutes, and is commercial free. There are about 8 episodes in each season, and each story is two episodes in length, so you get resolution.
Thanks for stopping by!
