It bears a slight resemblance.....

7:35 am - Saturday - August 3rd - LPG&RVR - 69° F, humidity 35%, wind 1 mph out of the east by northeast.......very cloudy today with a forecast high of 87° F.  On this date in 2020 TLE and I were at Priest Lake, ID visiting with college friends George and Brenda Cheney.....

George and Brenda on the right

Everyone we work with kind of knows our schedule, and on the final day of our four day work shift someone will inevitably ask me if this particular day is our 'Friday', meaning the last work day of our week.  Sometimes, obviously once per month....lol, our 'Friday' really is Friday and that was the case this week.

I initially staged 10 golf carts, but we ended up renting 14 (one cart twice), so things are picking up again in the first week of August.  The good thing about August is that usually by the middle of the month we will see temperatures once again slip out of the 90's, and back into the 80's.  Summer, and by that I mean the hot part of the year, lasts about 6 weeks typically, and it seems that is what will be happening again this year....

.....beginning Tuesday, the 14th, we will reach that mark.

I am pleased to report that for the 4th consecutive day there were no goose/duck leavings at the #3 tee boxes.  They, the geese, hung around longer than usual this year....about a month longer than the past two years.  Ironically, I've begun to see large flocks (or is that gaggles?) of geese flying south already.  I raked NO sand traps Friday, which is the first time in a long time that has happened.

With all the mowing, trimming, cart path dragging, golf ball clearing, tee box mowing done for the week I had time to do something that has been on the back burner for a few weeks.....drag the entire RV park with the screen.  I began with the 10 pull through sites in the large gravel area below our site.....

....over the course of the season these sites begin to look a little worse for the wear, so dragging them gives them a fresh look again.  Over the course of 2 hours I was able to get 70% of the RV park dragged (almost all our interior roads are gravel), and I should be able to get the rest during our next 4 day work week.

Once I head into the Clubhouse each day at 12 pm to give TLE her lunch break, I know my day will be over quickly....that last 2.5 hours after TLE returns from lunch always seems to fly by, and this Friday was no different.  By 3 pm there was nothing left for me to do outside as there were still 8 golf carts on the course, so I headed for home early, intending to return around 4:40 pm to wash, and stow the last 8 carts, and that is exactly how it worked out.

After taking a long, cool shower I poured myself a cup of ice coffee, sat in my recliner, listened to some Classic Vinyl on Sirius/XM radio, and took a nap.  I did, indeed, head back to the Clubhouse around 4:40 pm to find all remaining 8 golf carts there patiently awaiting their daily spa treatment.  By 5:10 pm I had them all stowed, and TLE was exiting the Clubhouse office....let our four day weekend begin!

Around 7:30 pm it had cooled down enough to go outside and spend an hour on the 'lido deck'....I poured myself a couple of fingers of single malt Scotch, and lit one of the cigars Kathie Smith gave me as a thank you gift for fixing her bicycle a few weeks back....

....yup, I am a happy boy!  Lol....it appears I am actually getting something that bears a slight resemblance to a beard on my face after 2 years of letting it grow.  Earlier in the summer TLE planted some wild flower seeds, and they are finally beginning to put on some blooms.....

.....we headed back inside around 8:30 pm, and watched a few more episodes of a BritBox series we've been watching for a couple of weeks now call 'In the Line of Duty'.  It is really good!

Thanks for stopping by!
